Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta has announced that the President has nominated:

Lieutenant General Howard B. Bromberg, United States Army, for reappointment to the rank of lieutenant general and assignment as Deputy Chief of Staff, G-1, United States Army, Washington, DC. He is currently serving as Deputy Commanding General/Chief of Staff, United States Army Forces Command, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Major General William B. Garrett III, United States Army, for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and assignment as Deputy Commanding General/Chief of Staff, United States Army Forces Command, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He most recently served as Chief of Staff, United States Forces-Iraq, OPERATION NEW DAWN, Iraq.
